Biography
Weerwoord is a growing hip-hop collective of rappers and producers. The group is the result of a collaboration between youth platforms MaakPlaats and Trots54. Under the guidance of seasoned veterans Royal with Cheese and Kleine Jay, the Weerwoord rappers recorded a full album in 2025 following a series of writers’ camps, which will be released on vinyl in March 2026 (!).
On March 21, the young rappers will present the album ‘Strijdperk’ as the opening act for Sticks at the Groene Engel in Oss, before embarking on a nationwide tour. The album focuses thematically on personal and societal issues the rappers face in their daily lives, offering a counter-argument to them and dealing with their struggles to keep their heads above water in a hectic world.
