Stanley Clementina (NL) // Steezmusic
Biography
Stanley Alejandro Clementina (1974) is a Curaçao-born, Netherlands-based multi-instrumentalist, singer, producer, and educator. His work blends R&B, soul, funk, Afrobeat, and Caribbean influences, reflecting his cultural roots and musical versatility.
Born and raised in Curaçao, Clementina grew up in a musical family and began singing, drumming, and composing at an early age—writing his first song at just nine years old.
After moving to the Netherlands, he studied bass guitar and vocals at the conservatory in Rotterdam. He went on to perform in various bands, including the early Dutch R&B group Black Flava, and established himself as a versatile performer and musical director.
Throughout his career, Clementina has collaborated with artists such as Jandino Asporaat, Nelson Freitas, Frenna, and Yade Lauren. He has also served as musical director for major theatre productions. His band Steezmusic regularly performs as a backing band for a wide range of artists.
In addition to performing, he is a dedicated educator, teaching vocals and close harmony at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where he mentors and develops emerging talent.
His artistic practice also extends into music theatre, including the production The Journey of Stanley Clementina, in which he explores themes of identity, migration, and resilience through music and storytelling.
