Biography
Julian Krohn is a music and audio strategist working at the intersection of advertising, culture, and the music industry. He currently serves as Director of Music & Audio at Scholz & Friends, where he founded the agency’s dedicated audio division, Scholz & Friends Sounds, in 2021. In this role, he advises global brands on music supervision, artist collaborations, licensing, and the development of audio-led campaigns and formats.
Krohn has led music strategy and sound branding for major international clients including Uber, Volkswagen, McDonald’s, PayPal, and Google, shaping how brands use music as a cultural and emotional driver in communication.
Before joining Scholz & Friends, he spent six years as Creative Director Music at Jung von Matt, where he worked on music strategy for brands such as Vodafone, BMW, Bosch, and EDEKA. Earlier in his career, he held roles at Universal Music, including A&R Manager at Island Records and Repertoire Manager at Universal Music Publishing, giving him a strong foundation in both the commercial and creative sides of the music industry.
Krohn has received multiple industry awards, including gold and platinum records with artists like Lena Meyer-Landrut, Alice Merton, and Rag’n’Bone Man, as well as honors such as Adweek’s Global Best Branded Podcast award and ADC Europe Gold for music and sound in advertising.
He is also active as a juror and industry contributor, participating in organizations such as the Art Directors Club Germany and international music and advertising award platforms.
