Biography
Charlie J is a South Wales-based music producer, rapper, and songwriter who fell in love with music at 14, using it as an outlet after years of bullying. Influenced by artists like Loyle Carner and Kendrick Lamar, Charlie combines storytelling with rap and vocals to craft a unique sound. He completed his first UK tour in October 2023, performing in cities like Morecambe, London, and Cardiff. He can perform either solo or with his live band.
Over the past six years, Charlie has self-produced and released over 50 tracks, five EPs, and several music videos. His music has been featured on BBC Radio 1XTRA, Kiss FM, and in blogs like Wordplay Magazine and Buzz Magazine Wales. With support from BBC Horizons and collaborations with producers such as Kyle Beats, he’s gained over 4 million views on YouTube and worked with brands like Kodak and Listerine.
Charlie’s proudest achievement is his UK tour, which he managed and booked himself. In Summer 2024, he released his biggest project, We’re All Lost, marking another step forward in his career. Supported by Help Musicians in 2024, Charlie continues to push his creative boundaries.
Notable performances include Focus Wales (2025), In It Together Festival, Y Lle Da Festival, Cardiff Hub Fest, and Swansea Fringe Festival.
