Biography
Dr Adesegun “SMADE” Adeosun Jr. is one of the most influential cultural
entrepreneurs of his generation and a pioneer of the global Afrobeats movement.
He is the Co-Founder of Afro Nation, the largest Afrobeats festival in the world, and
the Founder of SMADE Entertainment Group, a company that has shaped the sound,
stages, and global visibility of African music for more than twenty years.
Widely recognised as a cultural architect, Dr Adesegun has built the modern
Afrobeats ecosystem, a global industry now valued in the billions and expanding
across music, live entertainment, tourism, and culture. He created the blueprint for
African live experiences in the diaspora and has produced stages that helped launch
global careers, strengthened cultural identity, and connected millions of African and
diaspora youth.
Born in Nigeria and based in the United Kingdom, he works at the intersection of entertainment, cultural
diplomacy, and economic development. His mission is to amplify African excellence worldwide through live
events, tourism, storytelling, and strategic partnerships that build long-term creative infrastructure across the
