Canadian Blasts line up’s announced!!

For the 4th time in a row, New Skool Rules wil feature Canadian Blast by C.I.M.A., Socan Foundation and Socan. The Canadian Blast we held so far was a Hiphop showcase with some of the biggest names in Canadian Hiphop like Juno winners Big Tona and Rich Kidd. For this fifth edition we added a new Canadian Blast to the line up for Canadian R&B artists from all over Canada.

The Canadian Blast (R&B) will take place at BIRD Rotterdam on the 19th of May from 22.00-23.00 followed by the Soultastic night. The artists performing are JENNA, Tessa, AHI and Divine Brown.


The Canadian Blast Hiphop will be held in de Unie (Rotterdam) on Sunday May 21st with a Canadian reception first, followed by dope performances by Canadian Hiphop artists: iLLvibe, D.O., Devontee, Quake Matthews, Myer Clarity, Mc Evoy, DSG Samurai Champs, Monique Spence and King Bliss.

New Skool Rules Announces 2ND Round Of Speakers And Artists

New Skool Rules celebrates this fifth edition after a succesful 4th edition in 2015, where over a 1000 people attended the music conference part of New Skool Rules and more than 4000 visitors enjoyed the New Skool Rules Festival. New Skool Rules aims to create a platform for SHARING AND GAINING KNOWLEDGE, NETWORKING, DOING BUSINESS AND HAVING FUN!!! New Skool Rules has been very succesfull in bringing out the Music Industry’s Movers & Shakers as speakers for the different panels, workshops and masterclasses.

In 2017 New Skool Rules will have some of the biggest names and influential people in the Urban Music Industry as panelmembers, sharing their knowledge and experiences with the delegates. This anniversary edition New Skool Rules will feature SVP of A&R Omar Grant (Roc Nation), Director of A&R Yaasiel ‘ Success’ Davis (Atlantic Records), SVP of A&R Sterling Simms (Universal Publishing), Head of Urban Global Ryan Press (Warner Chappell/ Warner Music), Grammy Award winning producer/songwriter Chris Henderson and Troy Taylor (Trey Songz), SVP of A&R Ashley Calhoun (Pulse Music Group) and SVP of A&R Shani Gonzales (BMG Publishing) and renowned lawyer Bob Celestin. All the Americans will be occompanied by Promotor/ Manager Magdalena Jensen (Poland), Promotor/ Manager Ekatarina Bazhanova (Russia) and the most important person in Urban Media from the UK Charlie Sloth.

New Skool Rules always makes sure that the top performers in the different markets showcase their talent from legends like MC Shan and Fredro Starr (Onyx) to LMFAO and Bishop Lamont but also extremely known artists from Asia like Joe Flizzow, SonaOne & Mizz Nina graced the New Skool Rules stages. The festival part also features tomorrow’s superstars before they blow up like R. City (Locked Away feat. Adam Levine), Nico & Vinz (Am I wrong) and Fais (Hey feat. Afrojack).

This years showcases are from all over the world. The first artists announced include t.v. Personality and The Voice live show contestant and Topnotch Recording Artist Nicole Bus, actor/singer Jamie Joseph (UK), Exchange Idrise (US), Indie artist Ill Vibe and Abstract Artform, returning Exchange winner and formerly signed to Yeezy B.A.M.A. (US) .

In 2017 New Skool Rules is celebrating their anniversary. This means more showcases, exclusive events and even more Industry Heavy Weights. New Skool Rules will feature an outside stage again and will have the festival in more different venues than ever. The audience will get a taste of GREAT international music from all over the world (27 countries).

Besides the outside stage you can find New Skool Rules events in the Hilton Hotel, Jazzpodium Bird, de Unie and many other interesting locations in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.Come celebrate this fifth edition with New Skool Rules, as a delegate, performer or audience member. First time collaborator Popunie will feature some or their Urban Talents at New Skool Rules

Popunie is a local organisation that supports pop music ranging from Metal to Urban. For New Skool Rules they’re putting together a showcase with their top Urban talent. The Popunie does several different competitions every year and financially supports artists from Rotterdam for international gigs, but also supports small pubs and bars to programm unknown acts to create more platforms for artists to become more experienced.

Grammy Award winning producer/songwriter Chris Henderson to feature in upcoming Industry Night event feb. 18th in Rotterdam

Chris Henderson, who has worked with the likes of Jamie Foxx, Mýa, R. Kelly, Jene, Trey Songz, will do a panel discussing the ins and outs of the Music Industry as well as feedback on the delegate’s music. Right after the panel, people can show Chris live what they’re made of during a jamsession with a live band. If you enlist beforehand through (site is in Dutch) you will be able to get in for free. New Skool Rules will also be scouting for amazing acts to win one of the last showcase spots.

New Skool Rules collaborates with several Music Schools around the world

New Skool Rules thinks it’s extremely important to present the next generation with the opportunity to meet, network and hopefully do business with important Music Execs across the world during New Skool Rules. That’s why we collaborate with several music schools in the Netherlands and outside of the Netherlands. Some examples are Rockacademie Tilburg, Haarlems Conservatorium, Albeda Muziek, In Holland Rotterdam, SAE (US) and Abbey Road Institute France. Leading up to the conference, New Skool Rules has provided masterclasses at most of these schools or has organised auditions there.

Between Feb. 16th – Feb. 21st New Skool Rules will do another tour, visiting most of these schools with Grammy award winning Producer/Writer Chris Henderson. Chris will teach masterclasses about the music industry, production, songwriting and will feedback on the student’s music.
