Shaolin Versachi (NL)

Shaolin Versachi, born Aristote Bofunda Gemale on 26.02.1990 in Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo. At the age of five, Aristote moved to Europe, first Belgium then to Germany where he met his biological mother.
Five years later, Aristote signed a professional football contract in the Netherlands with the football club Roda J.C Kerkrade and saw bright future in his football endeavors.
However, in 2014 at the age of fourteen his mother forbid him to continue playing soccer because she wished that he secured his future in a normal job and within the church service. After this sudden and dark turning point in Aristote’s life, he found great interest in philosophy and sociology. It was only at the age of twenty-one that Aristote had his first real encounter with music making in Brussels Belgium where he freestyled his first songs with musicians who also were family members. His uncle Jessy Mezzo, a music producer from Paris convinced Aristote that it was time for him to work on a music project. Accordingly, Aristote moved to Paris with his uncle and worked for a short period on his debut project but Aristote quickly came to the realization that he did not know himself well enough to create a music project. Thus, he returned to his mother in Germany to find work and eventually started studying Marketing until he came across a Congolese photographer who gave Aristote the book ‘The Alchemist’ by Paolo Coelho and told him that it was the most important thing for a human to be himself and know himself. After reading the book, Shaolin decided to go on his personal journey and in 2012 he moved to Leeuwarden in the Netherlands. In the first two years in Leeuwarden Shaolin formed the band ‘Ninja Wolf’ with whom he regularly sharpened his vocal and writing skills. In 2014, Shaolin enrolled at the Art Academy ‘Academie voor Popcultuur’ so he could completely devote himself in his art, develop dance, writing and receive a degree.
In 2016, Shaolin left Leeuwarden and moved to Amsterdam in pursuit for a greater musical horizon. In the same year he predominantly worked as a ghostwriter for Dutch artists such as: Rollan, Slimkofi, Firstman and Shanee. He consequently released his first song ‘The Party’ on
