Biography

Erica Grayson is a force within the music, television, and film industries. Erica began her career as an executive for Sony Music Publishing, where she helped pave the way for the current model of publishing deals. Having been mentored by Jon Platt (Big Jon) (CEO of Sony Music Publishing), Erica went on to become the Senior Vice President of AnR, at Interscope Records, under the tutelage of Jimmy Iovine and was pivotal to the successful careers of multi-platinum recording artists The Pussycat Dolls, Keyshia Cole, Mary J Blige, and many more.

After many years of success at Interscope Records, Erica went on to become a Partner and President of “MADE management,” a writer-producer management company with clients such as Rico Love (Usher, Beyonce) and Jim Jonsin (Little Wayne, ASAP ROCKY) amongst others. While at MADE, she was instrumental in expanding the business in film and TV synch, strategic partnerships (American Idol, Interscope Records), and overall business development.

Because of her multi-hyphenated skill set, she founded Moxieworld consulting. With Moxieworld, she has worked with clients ranging from Major Record Labels (Atlantic Warner, Universal, RCA, OVO), Publishing Companies, Audible, Canadian Consulate, NBCUniversal TV, and many others.

Today, Erica is the Head of Blackmaled Sound, a division of Blackmaled Productions founded by writer-director Malcolm D. Lee (The Best Man, Girls Trip), and is responsible for helping build out all things music and sound. That includes music synch, podcasts, scripted audio space, and consulting on finding and developing rich stories around music that deserve to be told in the film and TV space.
