This award winning triple threat artist is impacting the East Coast music industry at the tender age of 17. Described as captivating, satiny-soulful and refreshingly pure, Zamani skillfully composes, produces, and performs a unique brand of R&B, Soul, Jazz and Pop. Hailing from a musical family, Zamani’s style reflects a lifetime of eclectic musical exposures. When just 14, her performance at the Halifax TD International Jazz Festival won the praise and admiration of vocalist Sharon Jones (Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings) and earned Zamani a featured performance at the 18th Annual African Nova Scotian Music Awards (ANSMA). A year later she was named co-recipient of the 2018 ANSMA Portia White Youth Music Award. That same year Montreal-based jazz vocalist Jeri Brown named Zamani a recipient of the Jongleur Youth Arts Performance Award. Greatly inspired by divas past and present Zamani’s influences include the likes of: India Arie, Jill Scott, Amel Larrieux, Natalie Cole, Betty Carter, Nina Simone, Lalah Hathaway, Sade, Erykah Badu and Beyonce. Her local performance credits are stacking up at key venues and grabbing attention of key promoters. Zamani has been a special guest of the Annual African Nova Scotian Sankofa Songwriters Circle; A headliner for the Jeff Goodspeed Youth Cuban Jazz Band; A concert and showcase artist at: The East Coast Music Awards (ECMA’s) All Ages Stage; Nova Scotia Music Week (NSMW); Halifax Emerge Festival; Halifax May Works Festival; TD International Jazz Festival; ANSMA Natal Day Festival; and the world premiere of Viola Desmond The Musical. Now with three single recordings released to Soundcloud, two music videos released to YouTube, growing television and radio appearances and a 2019 performance lineup which includes Vancouver and Toronto, Zamani is turning heads and is fully ready and poised to make her national and international debut.
