Joe Flizzow has built a reputation as one of Asia’s leading hip-hop stars. Since the release of his award-winning English albumPresident in 2009, he has expanded his Kartel business empire which now includes a record label (Kartel Records), talent agency (Kartel Agency), DJ collective (Kartel Hitmen), barbershop (Joe’s Barbershop) and merchandise line (Budak Baek). Joe also conceptualized and co-executive produced 8TV’s Hip-Hoppin Asia, a travel show that followed Joe to 7 Asian countries where he linked up with hip-hop peers who take him off the beaten path to destinations unfamiliar to the common tourist. Joe Flizzow released his groundbreaking album “Havoc” on 7 December 2013 with the similarly titled lead single “Havoc” creating a national phenomenon.

His second single “Apa Khabar” won the “Best Hip-Hop Song” award at Anugerah Industri Muzik 21 (known as the Grammy’s of Malaysia) and made history by being the first hip-hop song to win the prestigious “Song of The Year” award at the Anugerah Juara Lagu (AJL) in the award show’s 29 year history. AJL honours the year’s best songs, composers, lyricists and vocalists based on the chart show Muzik-Muzik on TV3. With over 4 million viewers, AJL is the No. 1 music related TV program in Malaysia.

Joe Flizzow has been focusing on developing and producing video content in the last year. He recently produced and hosted a new show called “16 Baris” which features some of the most exciting upcoming hip-hop talents in Malaysia. “16 Baris” will be available on Joe Flizzow’s YouTube page in the final quarter of 2017. He will also be hosting a new travel show “Go Travel: Best of Johor” which will be aired on multiple platforms on GoAsean’s network, airlines IFE (In Flight Entertainment) and hotels to a regional audience.
