Few artists leave such an impression that you’ll never forget the exact moment you first heard them. With his trademark Indie Soul style and a voice like “gravel on silk”, Canadian songwriter and independent recording artist AHI (pronounced “eye”) is one of those rare finds.
From humble beginnings in Brampton, Ontario, AHI has taken his passion and his guitar over 50,000 miles through the vast woodlands of Canada, the neon lights of New York City, and the brick lanes of London, before landing in Nashville to record his debut album ‘We Made It Through The Wreckage’. Backed by Nashville producer Eric Masse (Miranda Lambert), multi-instrumentalist Ian Fitchuk (James Bay), and Cage The Elephant guitarist Nick Bockrath, WMITTW has been added to radio stations across North America, appeared on CBC’s hit TV series ‘Hello Goodbye’, and charted on Billboard, Spotify, CBC Radio2, and CMJ/Earshot.
In the past year alone, AHI’s talent has been recognized and awarded by the Canada Council for the Arts, the JUNOs, Folk Alliance International, and the Nashville Songwriters Association International, and there is no doubt that wherever his journey takes him next, AHI’s undeniable gift will continue to capture the hearts of music lovers around the globe.
